Within the framework of Azerbaijan’s chairmanship in the International Transport Forum (ITF), the fourth-quarter meetings of the ITF were held in Baku, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport told APA-Economics.
According to the information, the meeting of the Transport Management Council also took place simultaneously. At the opening of the meeting organized by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, the Secretary General of the International Transport Forum, Young-Tae Kim, delivered a speech and expressed his gratitude to Azerbaijan for holding the meeting at a high level.
The meeting discussed a number of important issues on the agenda. The agenda and the minutes of previous meetings were approved. Then, the Secretary General presented a report on the activities of the forum and the work done, as well as the draft Work Program and Budget for 2026.
The event also provided information on issues such as the monitoring mechanism for the implementation of the BNF's strategic recommendations, the activities of the Road Transport Group and the Research Committee, and a strategic review of the documentation of international transport studies.
Additionally, information on the draft program of the 2026 Summit was presented at the meeting, and the Azerbaijan chairmanship's proposals regarding the recommendation document for ministers were discussed.
At the end of the meeting, it was announced that Türkiye will assume the ITF chairmanship for 2027–2028. The participating countries agreed on strengthening cooperation.
