"Every cultural heritage site in the liberated territories requires a special approach, and different methods can be used during their restoration," Emin Huseynov, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Aghdam, Fuzuli and Khojavend districts, told journalists on the sidelines of the 7th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue, APA reports.

He stated that a special seven-stage approach to cultural heritage restoration had been proposed by Azerbaijan at previous forums. According to Emin Huseynov, more practical discussions on this approach can be held at the current forum, as concrete examples of its implementation already exist in the liberated territories.

"We have already restored a number of our cultural and historical monuments and examples of cultural heritage. Special approaches have been applied to some of them, and these approaches may be of interest to other countries," he noted.

Emin Huseynov said that during his presentation at the forum, he spoke about examples of cultural heritage restored in Aghdam, Fuzuli and Khojavend districts. He cited the Imarat Complex of Panah Ali Khan, the Juma Mosque in Aghdam city, as well as Tugh village, which has been granted reserve status, and the Azykh and Taghlar caves as examples.

The Special Representative emphasized that methods such as conservation, restoration to the original condition, or the addition of new elements while preserving certain features can be used in restoring cultural heritage sites. The choice of approach is analyzed separately for each site.

He added that the restoration of cultural heritage is as important as the Great Return process. This process demonstrates the importance of social and cultural components alongside the return of people to their native lands.
