The project we are currently standing at, the Horadiz-Jabrayil-Zangilan-Aghband highway, is being constructed in accordance with the first technical category, Ziyaddin Hasanov, a specialist from the Azerbaijan State Agency of Automobile Roads, told journalists, during a media tour to the Aghband settlement of Zangilan district, APA-Economics reports.
He noted that the total length of the road is 123.6 kilometers: “78.5 kilometers of this road consist of 6 traffic lanes. The remaining 45.1 kilometers consist of 4 traffic lanes. The carriageway width is 14 and 21 meters, and the roadbed width is 21.5 and 29 meters. Eight interchanges have been constructed on the highway. Forty-four underpasses, 5 overpasses, and 314 structures of various diameters have been built. The total length of the tunnels is 12 kilometers. There are 3 tunnels. In addition, the project envisages the construction of 24 bridges. Construction works on 23 of these bridges have been completed, while work on one bridge is ongoing.”
“It is planned that the highway will be toll-based in the future. As an alternative to this road, the Horadiz-Jabrayil-Zangilan road has been built and put into operation. The completion of construction works is planned for the second half of next year,” he added.
