AZAL: Airbus A320 that made emergency landing had fully passed scheduled technical inspection

On October 20, 2025, the Airbus A320 aircraft of Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), which performed flight J2-020 on the St. Petersburg-Baku route, returned and made an emergency landing at Pulkovo Airport, AZAL told APA-Economics.

Airbus A320 passenger aircraft has undergone regular full technical inspections since it was put into operation in the AZAL fleet, and was in perfect technical condition during the flight from St. Petersburg.

We would like to inform you that the aircraft fully underwent a scheduled general technical inspection ("A-check") in September 2025. All technical work was carried out in accordance with the manufacturer's requirements and the airline's internal procedures.

Our experienced pilots fully complied with AZAL's internal rules and international regulatory procedures.

Thanks to the professionalism of our pilots, all potential risks during the flight were minimized, and the safety of passengers and the flight was ensured at the maximum level.
