"This year, it is planned to deliver 20 new generation wagons to the Baku metro," Rahman Humbatov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport, said at a press conference on "Transport measures implemented in 2024 and plans for 2025," APA-Economics reports.
He noted that in recent years, 7 metro stations and 1 depot have been constructed and put into operation in Baku:
"At the same time, 150 new-generation wagons have been brought to Baku. As a result, half of the metro wagons are new-generation cars. Work has also been carried out in the railway sector. The length of the constructed railways and modernized lines has exceeded 1,500 kilometers."
