5000 IT vacancies in Azerbaijan

Baku. Kamala Guliyeva â€“ APA. By the order of Economic Development Ministry, Information Technologies Institute of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences is conducting research for the implementation of the project on â€œResearching requirement and proposal in the segment of information technologies specialists in labor market and preparing relevant proposalsâ€, press service of the academy told APA. According to the instituteâ€™s investigations, 15975 specialists work Information Technologies in Azerbaijan, 4128 (25.8 percent) of them work in small enterprises, 6137 (38.4 percent) in medium-sized enterprises and 3800 (23.8 percent) in large enterprises. 12 percent (1910) of the IT specialists are independent specialists. The institute also polled IT specialists and employers. According to the results of the poll, 63.4 percent of the respondents received high education, 21.9 percent incomplete high education, 5 percent worked as IT specialist after attending certified courses. There are about 5000 vacancies in IT in Azerbaijan. These vacancies mainly cover the posts of software engineer, computer operator, specialist on information security, engineer on software systems, system programmer and network administrator.
