Cargo transportation rises 10% in Azerbaijan, January-October

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. Cargo transportation rose 10.4%, year-on-year, in January-October to 149.7million tonnes and cargo turnover rose 18% in Azerbaijan, said the State Statistical Committee.
Of this, 47% were transported by road, 31.2% by pipeline, 15.3% by rail and 6.5% by sea. Private sector took 69.1% of the total transportation.
1 billion people were carried in the transportation sector, a 7.9% increase on a year earlier. The private sector took an 83.4% share.
