Azerbaijan to get ready detail design of Intelligent Transport Management System this year

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov â€“ APA-Economics. The detail design of the proposed Baku Intelligent Transport Management System Project will be developed by late December, said Sadraddin Mammadov, the project management team leader
He added that it is slated to launch the construction of an administrative building and installation of the system components from early 2009.
According to him, 25 Korean specialists are now working on the project in Baku.
Azerbaijan signed an agreement with South Koreaâ€™s SK C&C in May for the establishment of the system. system.
After implemented, the system will collect traffic data in real-time from data collection media (detector-video, loop and radar, CCTV, etc), send data in real-time to the Intelligent Transport System Servers for the detention of unforeseen incidents, special situations and repeated congestion and the management of traffic flow, parking, and movement on bridges and overpasses through entrance/exit ramp control and lane control.
Besides, data transfer and signaling system will enable to improve traffic flow in case of special situations such as extreme congestion or unforeseen situations based on data collected in real-time in the servers through local detectors, surveillance and monitoring devices along the roads.
At the first phase, 20 electronic information boards, 77 detector-videos, 30 unauthorized parking regulators, 55 surveillance cameras and 546 loops will be installed. The project timeframe is two years.
