Azerfon’s subscriber base reaches 850 000

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev - APA-Economics. Azerbaijan’s new mobile operator Azerfon (Nar MobileTM ) has brought the number of its subscribers to 850 000.
The company said the customer base is expected to further increase in the near future.
“We have prepared for a number of new services and tariff plans for our subscribers.
This will play a role in expanding the subscriber base. With a dynamic growth rate, Nar Mobile holds a 10% share in the market,” said the company.
In order to improve the quality and reliability of its services, Nar Mobile installed more than 30 base stations in October alone.
Nar Mobile is the platinum of the 14th Azerbaijan International Telecommunications and Information Technologies Exhibition (BakuTel-2008) that is being held in Baku from November 11 to 14.
Azerfon was licensed by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan Republic in December, 2005 to provide mobile services throughout the territory of Azerbaijan. Azerfon Company launched its commercial activities in 21st of March, 2007 under brand name Nar Mobile. The trademark Nar was created as a symbol of the relationship between Azerbaijan’s rich cultural heritage and modern life.
