Volkswagen to make 2-liter minicar

Baku. Nicat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. Volkswagenâ€™s â€œTwo-Literâ€ eco-car will be on the market in 2010.
The minicar is based on the Up! concept, and its name is derived not from the engine it contains but from its incredible fuel consumption: two liters per 100 kilometers.
The Two-Liter features tandem seating and will be shorter than its Up! concept cousin. Itâ€™s rumored that this iteration will enter production faster than the original Up! concept even though Volkswagen has confirmed that the Up! will be on the market in 2010.
The 2-Liter is expected to use diesel as its fuel since it’s the most energy-dense of the readily available fuels in use today.
Though it’s still too early for firm numbers, power output is expected to lie in the 50hp (44kW) range, putting it squarely in the fight with its minicar companions.
