Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies holds general meeting

Baku. Ilhama Isabalayeva - APA-Economics. Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies has today held a general meeting on the results and achievements of January-September.
Ali Abbasov, Minister of Communications and Information Technologies, hailed the performance and achievements as satisfactory.
Rashad Nabiyev, Director of Finance, Accounting and Economic Analysis Department at the Ministry, made a report on the results of the nine months.
According to him, revenue from the ICT sector increased by 29.7% to AZN 701,7 million, the growth rate was 30.1% in the ICT sector, as well as 21.9% in telecommunications services and 9.2% in postal services.
Mobile operators took 71.3% of the total revenue in communications sector, up 33.8% on the same period last year.
Over the past 9 months, the average salary of staff at the ministry grew on average by 11.2% to AZN 225.8 and 172 new jobs were created.
Units and subunits under the ministry earned AZN 159.1 million, up 17.4% on the same period last year.
The meeting considered a number of issues concerning the problems of broadcasting in the country, a report on the progress of the Financial Services Development Project between the World Bank and the Government of Azerbaijan and other issues.
The meeting also noted the role of providing polling stations with web cameras in the recent presidential elections.
