Baku. Aynur Veliyeva - APA-ECONOMICS. Azerbaijan’s youngest and fast growing mobile carrier Azerfon plans to deploy cutting edge equipment to enhance its network coverage and service quality in Baku Metro.
The company said it will use modern technology to expand 3G service reach in the country.
Azerfon currently uses external equipment to provide services in Baku Metro, and its service is not available in all stations.
Launched commercial operation in 2007, Azerfon services 1.5 million subscribers in 80% of Azerbaijani territory.
Azerfon entered into a non-equity partnership with Vodafone in 2009. It got a 3G license form the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies on December 1, 2009.
