The chairman said recent spread of frauds causes discontent in society.
“I consider that any court judgment should be based on social justice. Lack of social justice shakes people's confidence in the court. Unfortunately, judges recently apply articles #62 (assignment of mitigate sentence) and #70 (conditional sentence) of the Criminal Code whether needed or not. No one say that these articles shouldn’t be used. But, how can these articles be used in the cases of bribery? Did that person spend the embezzled money to orphans or build houses for refugees? Judges should take their work seriously and be responsible,” he added.
Rzayev noted that housing issues have recently become a social disaster: “I received a man yesterday. It turned out that a house was sold to 16 people.”
