An unknown man in a taxi shot Gurban Mirza oglu Batirkhanov, a Georgian citizen of Azerbaijani origin, 7 times with a Makarov pistol while the latter was approaching his own car after coming out of a McDonalds restaurant. The shooter then fled, while the Azerbaijani man passed away at the scene.
Law enforcement agencies learned that Batirkhanov was living near the place where he was killed. He is said to be a taxi driver and not work anywhere officially. It is believed that Batirkhanov may have been killed by his rivals.
A criminal case has been opened under the articles on murder and carrying firearms of the Russian Federation’s Criminal Code. Investigation continues.
