Azerbaijan detained 411 wanted in May

Last month 37 trespassers were detained in 29 cases in Azerbaijan, the State Border Service told APA.

24 detainees are citizens of Azerbaijan, 3 – Uzbekistan, 3 – Iran, 2 – Russia, one citizen from each country such as Turkey, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova and Lithuania.

9 persons were detained over 6 cases of violating border regime and 32 detained in 26 cases in the Caspian Sea.

411 persons wanted by law-enforcement bodies were detained and handed over to corresponding bodies.

During the month, the smuggling of drugs with total weight of 33.323 kilograms was prevented in 28 cases.

As a result of measures taken in May, smuggling of goods totally worth about AZN 444,000, including a pneumatic pistol, a traumatic pistol, 7 cartridges and a holder for traumatic pistol, 3 units of 7.62-mm cartridges, 1.5 kilograms of gunpowder, a brass knuckles, AZN 550, USD 500, RUR 1.228.000, IRR 500, 774 grams of jewelry, an engine, 5 boats, 800 meters of nets, 132 mobile phones, 1566 units of 600-gram engine oil packages, 28 satellite antenna accessories, 7910 boxes of cigarettes, 149 bottles of alcohol drinks, 327 different drugs and other consumer goods.
