24-year-old mother dies in childbirth in Azerbaijan

Sheki District Police Office told APA’s Sheki-Zagatala bureau that 24-year-old Aygun Famil Karimova, who lived in Hazi Aslanov Street 18, Gabala district, had a caesarean section in the Maternity Department of Sheki District Central Hospital at noon on April 22.

Aygun Karimova suddenly felt worse after birth, and died at about 22:30.

Head of Maternity Department of Sheki District Central Hospital Ruziye Huseynova told APA that Aygun Karimova was hospitalized with 35 weeks of pregnancy, kidney failure and high blood pressure on April 17.

After the patient was received necessary medical assistance, she had a c-section.

On April 22, a 35-week girl was born after birth.

6 hours after the operation Aygun Karimova suddenly felt worse and it was impossible to save her life despite the interventions.

This was Aygun Karimova’s second pregnancy. Earlier, she gave birth to twin boys naturally in Gabala District Central Hospital.

Shaki District Prosecutor's Office is investigating the fact.
