Three people have been killed and two others seriously injured in a road accident in Azerbaijan's Balakan district, APA's North-Western bureau reports.
The accident occurred in the morning on the section of the Yevlakh-Zagatala-Georgia border highway passing through the village of Katekh in Balakan.
Three people died at the scene from severe injuries after Hyundai, KIA and Toyota vehicles collided.
One of the victims was reportedly Rashad Mutallibov, a passenger in the Toyota and a resident of Balakan's Saribulag village, while another was Maryam Hoorsova, the driver of the Hyundai and a resident of Katekh village.
TABIB told APA's local bureau that two men injured in the accident were admitted to the Emergency Department of Balakan District Central Hospital at around 09:15 on August 10.
They were diagnosed with multiple injuries to various parts of the body. They are currently receiving treatment in the Emergency Department and their condition is assessed as serious.
The regional group of the Press Service of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Internal Affairs said that a criminal case has been launched over the incident and an investigation is underway.
