Azerbaijani court sentenced the spy who gathered information about Nakhchivan, APA reports.
According to the verdict of the Court of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on Grave Crimes, Fuzuli Asadov, who collaborated with a foreign intelligence agency, has been found guilty of treason and sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment.
Fuzuli Asadov was arrested on September 15, 2023, by the special operational-investigative measures carried out by the State Security Service of Azerbaijan. He was accused of carrying out the tasks of the representatives of the foreign intelligence agency to the detriment of Azerbaijan's sovereignty, territorial integrity, state security, and defense capability. According to the indictment, he was involved in secret cooperation by representatives of the foreign intelligence agency in exchange for financial interests, receiving assignments to gather information about Azerbaijan's state security, transferring information to the representative of the foreign intelligence agency about the location of military units, strategic institutions, installations, roads, communication and communication facilities, as well as information about the population's vital objects and other details located in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
