Azerbaijanâ€™s famous lawyer Isakhan Ashurov dies â€“ <font color=red>UPDATED</font>

Guliyev said that Ashurov left for the US for treatment and died there at 14.00 today: â€œHe died from cancer. The funeral ceremony will be held in Georgia. May be, he will be buried thereâ€.

Ashurov was born on August 1, 1955 in Bolnisi, Georgia. He finished Fakhrali secondary village school in 1972 and entered the faculty of law of the Baku State University that year. He graduated from the university in 1977. He worked as a crime investigator in Gazakh Police Station in 1977-1981, as a crime investigator of investigation team of Main Investigation Group of USSRâ€™s Interior Ministry in 1984-1989.

In 1989-1991 he worked as chief of investigation department at Tovuz Region Police Office. In 1991-1992 he worked as a crime investigator at Goychay Region Police Station, in 1992-1993 â€“ as chief of Gazakh Region Police Station.

He has been working as a lawyer since 1996. He is a member of the Bar of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

He is married, has 4 children.
