Azerbaijan is a valued partner of the United Nations, UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan Dmitry Shlapachenko said during his speech at an event dedicated to the 81st anniversary of the establishment of the UN and the ratification of the UN Charter, APA reports.
"Celebrating my first UN Day in Azerbaijan together with you holds special significance for me. Azerbaijan is a valued partner of the UN, a country that consistently promotes multilateral diplomacy and international cooperation," Shlapachenko emphasized.
Highlighting the importance Azerbaijan attaches to the development of international cooperation, he stated that the need for international solidarity has increased further in the face of challenges posed by conflicts, inequality, climate change, and rapid technological transformation.
According to the UN official, addressing these challenges requires a more advanced, effective, and inclusive model of multilateral cooperation. Such a model should ensure broader representation and lead to outcomes that improve people's lives in different regions of the world.
