Azay Guliyev: â€œPardon Commission objectively considers all appealsâ€

All appeals are being considered objectively and fairly in the commission and relevant recommendatory document is being prepared and submitted to the president.

Guliyev said that the date of pardon decree and number of pardoned people is unknown and it is under the authority of the President. â€œWe donâ€™t announce this figure in advance, President determines this figure. There is no pending document. Members of the Pardon Commission unambiguously consider all received appeals.â€

The commissionâ€™s member also noted that if a criminal act contains public danger, there is no sense of pardon of its committer: â€œWe canâ€™t return these dangerous people to the society. If someone has served half of the sentence and poses no danger to society and pays fine to compensate the damages as a result of crime, then the recommendation on pardon of this person is sent to the president. Otherwise, the Pardon Commission can not make a positive decision on all these cases.â€
