Dangerous situation in landslide area in Khatayi district of Baku, Abid Sharifov holds meeting in the area

Landslide process is still going onâ€, chief of Ecology and Natural Resources Ministryâ€™s party studying hydrogeological, engineering geological and hydrogen geological processes, candidate of geological-mineralogical sciences Shaig Niftiyev told APA.

To him, deputy PM Abid Sharifov has today held a conference in connection with it: â€œPlan of measures has been drafted in relation to landslide. Emergency measures must be taken in order to prevent the landslide process in the areaâ€.

â€œIn order to study the deepening of reinforcement works in the area and determination of landslideâ€™s dynamics, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources will continue engineering geological researches. Appropriate bodies have been tasked in relation to other measuresâ€, added Niftiyev.

He noted that currently, the width of the landslide makes 150 m, length â€“ 230-250 m. the width and length of cracks has grown within the last 2 days, sedimentary processes had intensified and the landslide is developing actively.
