Azerbaijani Military Prosecutorâ€™s Office: Interrogation Group was established to investigate the facts of the SU-25 military aircraft crash

The Press Secretary of Republic Prosecutorâ€™s Office Afrahim Tahmazov reported APA that the head of investigation department for heinous crimes Jafar Jafarov, investigators, criminologists and representatives of Terter Military Prosecutorâ€™s Office work on the scene.They are on the site of event work to determine the conditions and causes leading to the accident.

Note that the accident took place at about 17.00 in the territory of Kurdamir region. Su-25 of the Azerbaijani Air Forces crashed during the practice flight.

Press officer of the Defense ministry Colonel-Lieutenant Eldar Sabiroglu told APA from the site that both crew members were rescued. â€œFortunately there were no casualties during the aircraft crashâ€.

Sabiroglu said details would be reported later.

APA reports quoting military sources that they are officers of the Air Defense Forces â€“ Lieutenant-Colonel Zaur Yusifli and Captain Khayyam Shukurov. The pilots were not injured in the crash.

The accident happened while the aircraft was landing. According to the initial causes, the landing gears were not lowered.
