99.1 percent of military crimes recorded in Azerbaijan last year solved

Azerbaijanâ€™s Military Prosecutorâ€™s Office held a board meeting with the participation of the employees of the central office, military prosecutor of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and district military prosecutors. Press service of the Republic Prosecutorâ€™s Office told APA that the board meeting was devoted to the struggle against crimes, work done to protect human and civil rights and freedoms and future tasks. Azerbaijanâ€™s Military Prosecutor, Lieutenant-General Khanlar Valiyev made a report. He said the efficiency of the struggle against crimes, work done to protect human and civil rights and freedoms was increased, a number of crimes having negative influence on military build-up were solved, the offenders were held accountable. Khanlar Valiyev said 99.1 percent of the crimes recorded in the reporting year were solved. Compared to 2009 the crimes against the military service recorded in the Armed Forces and other armed units envisaged in the legislation reduced by 3.8 percent, including crimes against rules of subordination by 12.7 percent, draft evasion by 9.5 percent, crimes related to leaving the military unit without permission by 13.7 percent, premeditated murders by 46.2 percent, crimes related to inciting to suicide by 23.5 percent, abuse of power by 8.2 percent, crimes related to negligence approach to service by 18.2 percent, crimes related to the violation of the rules on weapon handling by 24 percent, crimes related to giving and taking bribes by 6.8 percent.
It was noted that a number of grave crimes committed in the military units were solved. The number of such crimes reduced due to the establishment of mutual relations of the Military Prosecutorâ€™s Office with the Defense Ministry, State Border Service, Interior Troops and other military structures.
