State Commission: 6 Armenian officers, one family consisting of 5 persons and one Armenian civilian are held in Azerbaijan’s territory”

The website reads that as a result of transparent negotiations of the State Commission for Captives, Hostages and Missing People with international organizations, the bodies of resident of Gazakh Region residents Huseynov Hasan Huseyn , 29, and Namazov Sakit Sharif, 28, who moved to the Armenian side losing their way on March 2-3, were returned on April 3. The bodies were sent to Baku via plane and after the examination made in Staff of Forensic and Pathologic Anatomy office of the Ministry of Health the bodies were delivered to the relatives for their funeral. Soldier of Azerbaijani Army Hasanov Rafig Rahman, 22, who was captivated in Gazakh on October 8, 2008, was released and handed over to the Defense Ministry on April 7. Both processes were carried out in the border area of Armenia with Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic with the mediation of ICRC.
Last year, in accordance with October 27, 2010 joint statement of Azerbaijani and Armenian presidents on regulation of Nagorno Karabakh conflict, at the same time, as a result of regular and effective negotiations conducted between the Commission and international organizations, the sides mutually realized handover process of 4 bodies and released one civilian. The processes were realized on November 4 and November 6 of last year contact line between Azerbaijani and Armenian troops, in the direction of Gazakh and Aghdam regions of the frontline. During the first process, Azerbaijani side repatriated the body of Armenian scout Manvel Mamikonovich Saribekyan, born in 1990, who was detained in the north-western frontline on September 11 and committed suicide on October 5, to Armenia. In turn, Armenian side repatriated the body of Azerbaijani citizen, Tovuz region resident, Tagiyev Eldar Heydar, 47, who was taken hostage on December 28, 2009. During the second process, Armenia repatriated bodies of Mubariz Ibrahimov (on June 18, 2010) and Farid Ahmadov (on September 4, 2010), who were killed while they were heroically repulsing enemy’s attack in the direction of Azerbaijan’s Tartar region. And Azerbaijani side repatriated the body of 81-year old Armenian citizen Gavrusha Arustamyan found on June 18 of last year.

Currently, 6 Armenian servicemen, one Armenian family comprising 5 persons and one Armenian civilian are kept in the Republic of Azerbaijan. Those persons have been registered at ICRC and under the mandate, this organization can visit them anytime they want. At the same time, appropriate measures are underway by mediation of the ICRC in direction of release of 2 Azerbaijani servicemen captived in the oppiste side – Hajiyev Anar Khanbaba, born in 1990, taken hostage on May, 2009 in Fuzuli region and Huseynov Roman Novruz, born in 1985, taken hostage on August 22, 2010. Both persons are kept in Yerevan city of Armenian Republic. The fact on 6 servicemen went missing during the battles have been investigated and included into the appropriate list, fate of 91missing persons had been clarified and extracted from the list. Fact has been determined on death of 30 from 91 persons, 21 – did not go missing, names of 34 persons were reiterated in the list and 6 went missing outside of the conflict zone.
