APA reports that the purpose of the visit which will be held on January 13-14 is to sign cooperation agreement between Azerbaijan’s Ministry of National Security and Russian Federal Service for Drug Control on the struggle against illegal trafficking of narcotics, psychotropic and their precursor.
Ivanov will discuss the issues of Russia-Azerbaijan cooperation in the field of drug control with Azerbaijan’s government officials and religious figures.
Ivanov scheduled to meet with chief of President’s Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev, Minister of National Security Eldar Mahmudov, Interior Minister Ramil Usubov, Episcope of Baku and Caspian Eparchy Father Alexander.
The sides will discuss preparation of mechanisms of joint measures for combating drug trafficking and prevention of drug abuse.
