Official statement made on arrest of AIP Chairman

On January 8 of the current year, operational search actions were carried out by Main Department on Struggle against Organized Crime on the basis of information received by the Interior Ministry about that AIP chairman Movsum Samadov gave instruction to his cousin living in Guba region - Dayanat Samadov on spreading discord, violate social security, instigation of people to holy war.

3 hand grenades under safe in the market owned by Mardan Samadov where he worked, as well as 7 cartridges in his house and flash cards full with information propagandizing religious radicalism were revealed and taken. Dayanat and Mardan Samadov have been detained as suspected persons.

Criminal case has been launched under appropriate articles of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan, investigations are underway.
