Food reserve to be created in Azerbaijan

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov - APA. State Material Reserve Agency of Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations will create reserve of food-stuffs, lack of which can occur during emergencies, Minister of Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Heydarov said, APA reports.

To him, reserve of such foods will be created in future. At present, work is underway in the direction of establishment of a grain reserve of the State Grain Fund.

Saying that the Fund will hand over an elevator of 60 tons in Ganja within the next month, the minister noted that elevator of 100 tons will be built in the next period: â€œSuch volume of reserves means that Azerbaijan can meet their needs in case of drought and crop failure in other countries. We will have a reserve of 290 thousand tons after the construction of these silos.

Note that, currently, in addition to local producers, Emergencies Ministry buys grain from Kazakhstan and Russia as well.
