Official statement made on fatal explosion in Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense Industryâ€™s plant

The statement reads that today, at about 08.00, short circuit in one department of the Plant caused fire. The fire was extinguished immediately. But plant employee - Jafarova Imarat Gadir, born in 1958, afraid of the incident and died from heart failure.

Currently, representatives of the Defense Industry Ministry and related state bodies are investigating reasons of the incident.

Moreover, Ministry of Emergency Situations has also made statement on this incident. The statement posted on the official website of the Ministry reads that 20 cubic meters equipments in a plant having 1050 cubic meters area located in Khatai district of Baku burnt down. Other departments and equipments of the plant have been protected from the fire by firefighters involved in the site. The fire was extinguished totally at 08.45. Body of Jafarova Imarat Gadir, born in 1958, has been revealed during the investigation of the site. Investigation is underway on the incident by appropriate bodies.

Note that, Khatai district Police Office told APA that one was killed and another was injured during the explosion took place at the Radio Manufacturing Plant. Injured employee of the plant â€“ Almaz Valiyeva, 56, was hospitalized.
