Alasgarov said he submitted the necessary documents about Allahshukur Pashazadeh and opinions from five countries to the International Nobel Prize Information Center several years ago.
“We applied to 13 countries for opinion, 5 countries expressed their opinion. Their opinions were positive. But due to the technical reasons the documents of Allahshukur Pashazadeh were not discussed at the World Peace Council. If they had been discussed, the prize would have been given to the head of the Caucasian Muslims Board this year. Several years ago Prognostics Center of the Nobel Prize Committee said a religious figure would be awarded in the following years. Pope John Paul II, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexy II and Sheikh-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazadeh were included into the list. As two of the abovementioned persons died, the prize must have been automatically presented to Sheikh-ul-Islam. Nobel Peace Prize is presented only to the alive persons,” he said.
