ICRC representatives conducted monitoring of the detention conditions of Armenians and talked with every member of the family separately. They received a “letter of the Red Cross†from the Armenian family to deliver to their relatives.
Armenian citizen, 58-year old Yegishe Petrosovich Gevorkyan entered the Azerbaijani territory in the evening on January 10, 2010 in his car with his wife and three children. Gevorkyan ignored the Armenian border servicemen’s warning and crossed the border from Yeraskh region of Armenia and entered the territory of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan, said Armenian Defense Ministry.
Armenian side said Gevorkyan was sentenced for eight times for robbery, carjacking and other crimes.
