Garib Mammadov: “The new branch of Araz River will pass through the regions of Imishli, Bilasuvar, Neftchala, Jalilabad, Masalli and Lankaran and interflow to the Caspian Seaâ€

The new branch of Araz River will pass through six regions – Imishli, Bilasuvar, Neftchala, Jalilabad, Masalli and Lankaran and interflow to the Caspian Sea, said chairman of the State Committee on Land and Cartography Garib Mammadov. The corridor will stretch 130 km and its width in Imishli will be 250-500 m, in Neftchala – 12 km.
Mammadov said they were planning to create land reserves in the regions where the corridor would pass. “The question is about the identification of the public, municipal and private lands. The corridor will pass through 75 000 ha fields. There are 65 000 ha public, about 7 000 ha municipal and 3 000 ha private lands there. The local authorities are identifying the landowners and their list will be submitted to the relevant agenciesâ€.
