The next important stage in the construction of the Trans-Caspian Fiber-Optic Cable Line, which will establish the first fiber-optic connection between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, has already been completed, APA-Economics reports.
The project implementers, AzerTelecom and Kazakhtelecom, have announced the successful completion of the Desktop Study necessary to begin work on laying the cable along the seabed.
This study is of particular importance in terms of the start of construction work, as it includes a preliminary and detailed engineering analysis conducted to study the seabed environment and determine the potential route of the cable line.
The report, prepared based on the results of the Project Study, presents a detailed analysis of the maps of the Caspian Sea, seabed and ecological features, including potential route risks. The report also reflects information important for the next stages of the project, which are seabed surveys and cable route design.
Technical supervision and advisory support for the project is provided by the US-based company Pioneer Consulting. The company ensures that all stages of the project and the results achieved comply with international standards and advanced industry practices. Pioneer Consulting participated in the review of key technical information and provided expert opinions at the Project Study stage, and supported the adoption of the report by AzerTelecom and Kazakhtelecom.
