Kremlin comments on expected Moscow visit by Witkoff and Kushner

The Kremlin has commented on the expected visit of US President Donald Trump’s special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Moscow, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that Russia remains committed to a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine and that the United States has goodwill to mediate.

“I would not announce anything. But when these contacts take place, we will inform you,” he said, commenting to journalists on the expected visit of the US representatives to Moscow.

It should be noted that TASS reported today that Witkoff and Kushner will visit Moscow and Kyiv on September 5–6.

He noted that the Kremlin considers it premature to speak of new disagreements in the peace process: “There are currently no concrete prerequisites for a peaceful settlement in Ukraine, but work is continuing, and this possibility cannot be ruled out. The position of the Russian Federation, voiced by President Vladimir Putin at the Foreign Ministry two years ago, remains unchanged.”
