Nepal's National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) reported on Friday in its latest update that the death toll from flash floods and mudslides near the border between Nepal and China has risen to 1,308 people, while 5,624 remain unaccounted for, APA reports.
Nine days after the disaster struck the Himalayan region, official figures stated that of those missing, 844 are foreigners. Chinese authorities said at least 31 people were killed, while 531 others remained missing in the southwestern Xizang Autonomous Region, also known as Tibet, according to Xinhua News Agency.
