Russia has sent an urgent appeal to the Secretary General of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) regarding Ukraine’s threats against civil aviation, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
It was noted that Russia remains unwaveringly committed to ensuring the safety of civil aviation.
“Russia has categorically rejected NOTAM notices issued by the Ukrainian authorities regarding the alleged danger of Russian airspace. Moscow has called on ICAO to condemn Kyiv’s unlawful interference in civil aviation activities and the direct threats it poses to them, and to take targeted measures to put an end to Ukraine’s actions threatening aviation,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
It should be noted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has threatened Moscow that they would close Russian airspace.
