Today, a conference dedicated to "Cybersecurity for the Green Economy" has begun in Baku. Organized by the company "PROSOL," the event includes a cybersecurity competition titled "CTF – Capture the Flag," hosted by the State Service for Special Communications and Information Security of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SSSCIS), APA-Economics reports.
The opening ceremony of the conference featured a speech by Major General Allahveran Ismayilov, Deputy Head of SSSCIS. He noted that Azerbaijan has advanced 36 places in the international Cybersecurity Index, moving from 86th to 50th position. He emphasized that SSSCIS regularly audits and monitors state institutions' information systems to assess their cybersecurity status promptly. He also mentioned that in a few days, SSSCIS, in collaboration with Romania's Cyber Diplomacy Center, will hold the region's first international conference dedicated to "Cyber Diplomacy."
As part of the conference on "Cybersecurity for a Green Economy," there will be discussions on the latest trends and challenges in cybersecurity, along with panel discussions and the "CTF – Capture the Flag" cybersecurity competition. Representatives from Azerbaijan's public and private sectors, cybersecurity experts, and participants from countries such as the USA, Türkiye, Israel, Poland, Ukraine, France, Kazakhstan, Croatia, and Pakistan will be involved in the panel discussions.
In the "CTF – Capture the Flag" competition organized by SSSCIS, 20 cyber teams from various public and private institutions will compete for three top spots.
The conference will last for two days.
