The deputy minister said the human rights issue in relations with the European Union is important: “We’re a young, democratic state, and we always stand ready for bilateral discussions. The securing of human rights is a long-term process. The EU special representative on human rights is on a visit to Azerbaijan as well. There’s been much discussion. We create necessary conditions for such meetings so that events in this area would continue. Dialogue is needed. Some statements are made based on the information given by political groups. Regretfully, officials often ignore the government’s opinion”.
