The newly-appointed US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Robert Cekuta said in a message via Facebook to the Azerbaijani people.
The message says:
“I’m thrilled to be here and am happy to announce that of the three choices in my welcome video, 70% of you voted in favor of Gobustan, and I will be planning a trip there soon.
I also want to thank you for the other additional feedback and suggestions. Your input showed that there are many important issues we need to work on. I’ve started discussing many of these issues, and I look forward to continuing these conversations with people representing all parts of Azerbaijani society across the country.
I also hope you will take part in an exciting set of events during America Week, which will be held from March 10 through 14 around the country. Stay tuned for more on that later”.
