NATO representative: â€œNagorno Karabakh problem requires serious attention from the international communityâ€

He said that Armenia and Azerbaijan are main directions for both NATO and Russia policy: “These countries want to establish good relations with Russia and NATO, especially in terms of peacekeeping. I would like to note that we do not compete with Russia in the field of peacekeeping. "

Appathurai said that currently, Armenia is trying to attract a variety of international organizations to solve the problem with Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan is less dependent on Russia in its foreign policy: “We have a large cooperation program. Appathurai stated that NATO is interested in the soonest solution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. The Alliance notes that the threat arisen from protraction of such latent conflicts can not be neglected and experience shows that it produces bad results: “Such conflicts may lead to serious consequences for neighboring countries like Russia, as well as Europe. These conflicts have a negative impact on the energy sector, thus they require serious attention from the international community.”
