Iranian Ambassador: â€œThe Iranian citizens, who left Azerbaijan, are not diplomatsâ€

Baku. Shamil Alibeyli – APA. “Four employees of the Iranian embassy have left Azerbaijan as the term of their visa expired. Currently, they are in Iran waiting for a new visa,” Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohsen Pak Ayeen told APA.

He said that they are not diplomats, only the employees of the Embassy: “We want to solve this issue through negotiations. I have recently met with the Chief of the State Migration Service of Azerbaijan and we have discussed this issue. It was stated that this issue would be considered.”

The Ambassador did not reveal the identities of the aforementioned people.

Iranian “arannews” agency reported that four employees of the Iranian embassy have been sent away from Azerbaijan as the term of their visa expired. The State Migration Service of Azerbaijan demanded them to leave the country after paying fines for the violation of visa regime. The Iranian side said that these persons have been working in Baku for more than 10 years.
