Baku. Victoria Dementyeva – APA. Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov met with Foreign Minister of Bosnia Herzegovina Zlatko Lagumdžija, who is on a visit to Baku, APA reports. At the press briefing on the outcomes of the visit, the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister said that Azerbaijan and Bosnia and Herzegovina have high-level bilateral relations. He mentioned that the National Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina has adopted a resolution on the recognition of Khojaly genocide and “On the recognition and respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan”.
“We have extensive plans and opportunities for developing bilateral cooperation. The minister’s visit to our country will also open new opportunities for developing our relations.”
Elmar Mammadyarov stated they discussed several economic issues, including the participation of Azerbaijan in the railway construction in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In his turn, the Bosnian minister said that Baku and Sarajevo have been twin cities for more than 30 years: “We are interested in active representation of Azerbaijan in the business climate of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We are interested in developing cooperation with Azerbaijan in economy, culture, education, energy and infrastructure.”
He thanked Azerbaijan for supporting Bosnia and Herzegovina in the implementation of a number of post-war projects in the country. The minister noted that the implementation of such projects strengthens bilateral ties more.
