Azerbaijan’s non-governmental organizations (NGO) held an event on Saturday to express support for the Turkish army’s Operation Olive Branch in Syria’s Afrin.
First the participants of the event, titled “Azerbaijan-Turkey fraternity is eternal”, visited the Alley of Martyrs and the Turkish Martyrs' Memorial in Baku.
It was said at the event that Azerbaijan’s NGOs set up an organizing committee to hold a number of events in support of Azerbaijan-Turkey fraternity.
Then the participants of the event adopted a statement which will be presented to Turkey’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Erkan Ozoral.
A total of 1,595 PYD/PKK and Daesh terrorists have been "neutralized" since the beginning of Operation Olive Branch in Syria's northwestern Afrin region.
On Jan. 20, Turkey launched Operation Olive Branch to clear PYD/PKK and Daesh terrorists from Afrin.
According to the Turkish General Staff, the operation aims to establish security and stability along Turkey’s borders and the region as well as protect Syrians from terrorist oppression and cruelty.
