One of the main outcomes of the upcoming meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump in New York could be the achievement of energy and maritime ceasefires, Ukrainska Pravda said, APA reports.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha made the statement during a joint press conference with Slovenian Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon.
He noted that Ukraine welcomes US efforts in this direction and believes that this can be achieved with Washington's active involvement.
"We welcome the efforts of our partners, particularly the United States, aimed at making this happen, and we believe that achieving this is realistic precisely with the active involvement of the United States. We are preparing for President Zelenskyy's meeting with President Trump on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, and I believe that one of the main outcomes of this meeting could be the achievement of a ceasefire," Sybiha stated.
According to the minister, this could involve ceasefires both in the energy sector and in the Black Sea.
Sybiha emphasized that Ukraine wants to end the war.
"We have our proposals and our vision of how this should be implemented. We need the support of the international community, and we must abandon any illusions about Russia's goodwill. Russia only understands pressure," the Ukrainian foreign minister noted.
