MP Asim Mollazade said that Ukrainian crisis should be resolved through political means. He said Azerbaijan should support Kiev in the protection of the territorial integrity of Ukraine within international organizations as a member of the GUAM: “Azerbaijani people want territorial integrity, independence and sovereignty of Ukraine to be ensured. Ukraine is our ally and Azerbaijan should express support to the country within international organizations.”
MP Faraj Guliyev suggested Azerbaijani Parliament to reiterate that it recognizes the independence and sovereignty of Ukraine: “The territorial integrity of Ukraine is under threat. Azerbaijani Parliament should also issue a statement offering condolences for those who died during the conflict.”
Speaker Ogtay Asadov said that Ukraine is a strategic partner of Azerbaijan: “Azerbaijan has always supported the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine. A new government is being established there. When didn’t we support the independence of Ukraine? I think, we should talk carefully."
