Russian President Vladimir Putin met with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Kremlin press service said, APA’s Russia bureau reports.
Speaking during the protocol part of the meeting, Putin said that the level of economic cooperation between Russia and Türkiye remains high.
He said that according to the results of 2025, about 7 million Russians visited Türkiye.
Putin expressed confidence that Rosatom would commission a unit of the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant in 2026.
He emphasized that Türkiye is one of Russia’s privileged partners both in foreign policy and economic matters.
The Turkish leader, for his part, said that Ankara-Moscow relations are at a higher level than before.
He noted that the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant is in the final stage of commissioning.
Erdogan proposed to Putin that they jointly commission the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant.
