Türkiye plans to open a number of new nuclear power plants in addition to Akkuyu, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said during his meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Kyrgyzstan, APA’s Türkiye bureau reports.
“Along with the opening of the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant, we will also take steps together regarding the opening of some new plants,” Erdogan noted.
According to him, the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant is of great importance in Türkiye-Russia relations.
Erdogan said that the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant is currently already at the completion stage.
