The Strait of Hormuz is under the full control of the Iranian military, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said in a video address, APA’s Tehran bureau reports.
“The enemy’s recent strikes on our country are related to our use of force in the strait, and we gave a crushing response to these strikes by the enemy. If control of the strait is in the hands of the Americans, then why do they have to repeat this every day and attack our islands?” the Iranian parliament speaker said.
Ghalibaf also claimed that the US was giving ships false assurances that they could pass through the strait: “The Americans deceptively assure ships that they can pass through the strait, but those ships come under attack.”
The Iranian parliament speaker also touched upon the rapid restoration of the military’s capabilities and its existing potential. He emphasized that in the next stages of the war, Iran would be in a stronger position both qualitatively and quantitatively: “The enemy should know that in the next stages of the war, we will be more prepared and superior both qualitatively and quantitatively.”
Ghalibaf added that the process of restoring and strengthening both the offensive and defensive capabilities of the Iranian military is continuing at the highest level.
