Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov met with Zhang Chuanjiang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), the ministry said, APA-Economics reports.
During the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the development of the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and China, and it was emphasized that the successfully developing cooperation between the two countries in various fields also creates broad opportunities in the energy sector. The importance of documents aimed at further strengthening Azerbaijan-China strategic cooperation was noted.
During the meeting, cooperation ties established between Azerbaijani and Chinese companies in the energy sector were discussed, and views were exchanged on opportunities to develop the existing partnership and implement new joint projects.
Representatives of CNOOC expressed their interest in participating in energy projects implemented in Azerbaijan. During the discussions, potential projects in the oil and gas sector and the field of “green” energy, including possible energy projects in the Caspian Sea, were discussed.
