During the meeting Mammadyarov said the two countries are bound by historical roots, informing the Iranian FM about the settlement process of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict.
The sides also discussed how to further develop bilateral relations.
Zarif said about 20 Iranian ministers made visits to Azerbaijan over the last two years, noting the importance of developing relations in various spheres.
Following the meeting, the ministers made statements for the press.
Earlier, the Iranian FM was received by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
